What is Dynamic DNS?
A Dynamic DNS (domain name system) service allows a user connecting to the Internet with a dynamic IP address to be able to use some applications that usually require a static IP address. This feature allows users to host servers (web servers, email servers, ftp servers) that would otherwise be very difficult or impossible to accomplish.

Using a dynamic DNS service to arrange for computers to find you even though you are using a dynamic IP address is the next-best thing to having a static IP.

Why is DNS Made Easy's Dynamic IP Solution better than the rest?

How is DNS Made Easy different from other services?

  • Many other services only update their records at set times. Many run their updates at night or once a day. Often forcing you to have a day of downtime.
    • DNS Made Easy makes the DNS updates immediately.
  • Other services require you to have a large TTL. A TTL (time to live) is the length of time that your record will stay in cache (memory) on other systems. Since other providers force you to have TTLs of 12 hours to 1 day you will have a long period of downtime.
  • DNS Made Easy has a 100% uptime history.
    • Something that not many other providers can claim.
